On May 8th, nearly 300 champions of literacy helped raise more than $515,000 at Read Alliance's Annual Spring Benefit! Among the evening’s highlights, Senior Teen Leaders Réal and Emilee described the program’s impact both on themselves and the younger peers they serve; honoree and longstanding board member Marcia Cantarella placed the program within the context of her family’s generations-long history of breaking barriers in both education and civil rights; and FOX 5 Meteorologist/Feature Reporter and Benefit Host Audrey Puente presided over the evening with enthusiasm and grace.

There is still time to become a Literacy Champion. Click on our Donate Now button and make a meaningful impact on the lives of NYC youth.
